Healthy Living Tips

Do you know that making just a few changes in your lifestyle can help you live longer?

As people become conscious of habits they need to kick, they are prone to take decisions along what is considered ‘healthy directions or changes’.

While trying to make these lifestyle changes, people often become overwhelmed as old habits are notorious in a way….they tend to die hard.

However, a sure way to achieve the desired result is to go one step at a time and follow these tips:

  1. Having Enough Sleep

Sleep is one of the most essential ingredients of human existence. It is amazing to know that sleep is more sustaining than even food. On record, the highest anyone has been able to survive without sleep is 11 days; while it is known that most people can survive without food for about 2 months! According to The National Sleep Foundation (NSF), the recommended average minimum sleep time for an adult is 7 hours per day.

  1. Drinking Water in the Morning

Drinking water first thing in the morning helps to release toxins from the body via urine, boost appetite, reduce weight and prevent headaches. This practice also cleanses the colon, which makes it easier for the body to absorb nutrients from food.

  1. Eating Healthy

Increase: Vegetables, Fruits, Whole Grains, Legumes, Lean Meats, Nuts, Good Fats, Fiber.

Reduce: Sugar / High Fructose, Corn Syrup, Processed Foods (especially with ingredients that you do not know), Saturated fats & Trans fats, Chemicals, Calories from Junk foods etc.

  1. Exercising

Regular exercise is quite beneficial! It’s a fitness pump for the heart but most people have neither the time nor intention to exercise their body. Exercise if you can but if you hardly have time to exercise then try to maximize every opportunity you get to be engaged in physical activities – take a walk instead of driving on a short distance, use the stairs instead of the elevator etc.

  1. Checking the Ingredients Contained in Products You Use.

Reading product’s ingredient list tells you exactly what the product contains. Some products may contain harmful ingredients, which may cause cancer, allergic reactions etc.

  1. 6. Having Regular Medical Checkup – Regular health checks prevent unforeseen health hazards. Early diagnosis helps to curtail the spread of cancers, prevent complications of diabetes, hypertension etc.

However, in the event of disturbing health issues, a valid and active Custodian Critical Illness Insurance (CCIC) will help to cushion the financial blows such may bring, so you can get adequate treatment and care.

CCIC is the special-purpose, health insurance product that help policyholders cushion any financial blow(s) that may arise as a result of any of Stroke, Heart attack, Kidney failure and Cancer.
